How fun would it be to walk out to your mailbox and find a surprise package of…. FABRIC?!
Admit it, you’d be over the moon, wouldn’t you? Especially now when it’s almost impossible to hop in the car and visit your favorite fabric shop. A surprise package of fabric? Delivered to my mailbox?? Heck yeah! Count me in!
If you’ve ever participated in a fabric swap with your quilting friends then you know what they are: Each person brings an agreed up amount of fabric, usually based on some type of theme, and then you swap with each other. It’s a great way to weed out your own stash and walk away with something new and exciting to use on your next project.
What makes fabric swaps even more fun is all the friendly chit chat. Everybody shares quilting tips and, let’s face it, maybe even a few quilting horror stories, while they catch up with old friends and make a few new friends.
If you’re sitting there thinking, “Those were the good ol’ days,” don’t fret. You might not be able to get out of the house right now. Your favorite local fabric shop might be closed. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have a Fabric Swap.
Here’s what we’re gonna do!
Let the good ol’ USPS take care of the ‘Swap’ part for us! That’s right. The US Postal Service is still up and running and delivering mail every day. You can even order free shipping materials from them and they’ll deliver those to your home, too – free of charge.
Let good ol’ Facebook take care of the ‘friendly chit chat’ for us! We’ve already set up a Facebook Group and we’d love for you to join in the fun, add your own quilting tips and horror stories and make a bunch of new friends!
Registration for the April Fabric Swap ends on midnight on Sunday, April 5. Register now for details and we’ll tell you how you can join in the fun!
